Saudi Arabia reminds of the Old Testament Kingdoms in the Bible. You have to please the king and the royal family in ways you can. His rules and decisions are final. Citizens or foreigners - we do things directly or indirectly to please the kings or the royal families.

They consider foreigners from the eastern and indian sub-continent as 2nd class citizens. The westerners are given more respect and dignity.

Say something against the kings (old or new) or kingdom or the rules or the rulers or Islam or muslims - you shall no more see light (you may even lose your life).

No religious freedom. If you belong to any other religion other than Islam, you can sit back in your home and pray to your god, so that not even your roommate hears it. Any complaints due to religious propogations or meetings other than Islam, will be dealt immediately and made sure they are punished severely.

No human rights! There might be many organisations or offices or even ministries to say that they work for the welfare and well-being of the society and human rights, but its only on paper! Or better they can be renamed as Saudi Rights! Want to know something? In a legal case, a man's witness/testimony is equivalent to 2 women's witness/testimony.

Severe punishments, beheadings, and harsh implementation of Sharia law to all was something everyone was scared about. But, since the last decade, things have calmed down and become more lineant. We expect more freedom in the years ahead, under the reign of the present King and Crown Prince.

Makkah and Madinah can only be visited by muslim pilgrimagers. People from other religions cant even access the road to that province. Sign boards are clearly specified showing the path for Muslims and Non-Muslims.

Israel, pork, - dont say it!!!

A very lazy generation of people. They are good in driving and shopping and show-off. They like to work in offices and that too hardly for 2–3 hours. They earn thick wages, although all/most of the works are done by foreigners, especially, Easterners.

Internet, air-conditioning, latest smartphones and cars - 4 vital things without which they wont live!

The only place where I saw so many hospitals. For instance, just within 2 kilometre radius from my home, there are 7 giant hospitals, and that too super-speciality hospitals. And most of them, in names of present and former Kings and Princes.

The country is super rich. All the wealth due to the blessings of oil and gold.

Now, while I mentioned all these, I must say that this country was a blessing for millions of foreigners too, coz of the employment opportunities which was open to all, to work for the benefit of the country as well as to nourish their own families. All of our countries got developed due to this flow of foreign currency only - especially gulf currency.
I am a witness for the change of Saudi Arabia. The one which I saw in my childhood is not even wished to remember, but the present days are more comfortable, while we hope that the future of this country is going to be the best of days in the history of this country and the Middle East.
