You don't need to use the displacement modifier you can use a displacement node in the shader editor.

As for the amount of subdivisions you gave the subD modifier that's unnecessarily excessive. 1 for viewport and 3 at most for rendered view.

Texture tessellation is extremely GPU intensive and adding more subD to an object will give you diminishing returns.

Good video but I would recommend you read up on how mesh tessellation is handled in blender
