Cyclones are strong, rotating wind storms, caused by very low pressure systems towards which strong winds gush at great speed. When they occur on coastal lands, they bring heavy rain also. They do severe damage and cause floods and landslides too.
In India, coastal regions of Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, and Odisha, are cyclone prone areas.
