Although we have all seen the terrifying T-Rex and the cute but enormous diplodocus, there are SO many more creatures that have once lived on planet earth, and are no longer around. In prehistoric times they liked to make the creatures extra-large, like Texas-style. And that means MASSIVE. So, in order to expand your minds beyond Jurassic Park, we have gathered together some of the weirder, but super interesting earth dwelling monsters from the distant past. You lucky old things…. So, here for your enjoyment are 20 Prehistoric Creatures That Grew To Dinosaur-Like Sizes… Spoiler: at least one of them is an actual dinosaur… But it’s a good one.

Your video is incorrect, the Indian Straight-Tusked Elephant (Palaeoloxodon namadicus) was not the largest land animal that ever lived nor was it the largest land mammal that ever lived, Paraceratherium bugtiense was the largest land mammal that ever lived, the Indian Straight-Tusked Elephant (Palaeoloxodon namadicus) was still dwarfed by two other proboscidean species, including another elephant species being the Steppe Mammoth (Mammuthus trogontherii), thus only making the Indian Straight-Tusked Elephant (Palaeoloxodon namadicus) the fourth largest land mammal that ever lived, the Steppe Mammoth (Mammuthus trogontherii) was truly the largest elephant that ever lived and Deinotherium giganteum was the largest proboscidean that ever lived.

Dimetrodons were not reptiles, but synapsids, the ancestors of mammals.
Reptiles descended from sauropsids. Both synapsids and sauropsids diverged from their common ancestor, the amniotes, which evolved from amphibians.

If you are refering the Nile crocodile as a saltwater crocodile, then that is complete nonsense. 2 different species. The Nile crocodile only lives in Africa and the Saltwater crocodile inhabits many regions of the Pacific (Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, Australia and many surrounding Islands.

Really? The Colombian Mamoth was that small? Many, many dinosaurs got a lot bigger. both herbivores and carnivores. The African Jungle Elephant can in extreme cases become larger. In 1956 (i think) one was shot in Angola that was 3.96m hig and weighed in excess of 11ton. But the biggest elephant species ever could get up to 24ton. Sadly i don't remember the name.
