After watching hours of videos like this, I feel well prepared to handle the situation should a charging elephant ever appear on Long Island.

For those of you questioning why the elephant stopped his charge maybe don't understand the outstanding intelligence of this beautiful animal.

Elephants, especially this male here will protect their territory and their family herd if they feel a threat.

The elephant here at first saw ivan as a threat and then mid charge the elephant saw how ivan didn't flinch or bat an eye. This showed the elephant how massive ivan's brass balls are. A elephant of this size weighing approximately 5 tons would have surely been crushed to certain death had he charged ivan head on and run into those massive brass boulders in ivans pants at full speed.

I got charged by a bull elephant who was protecting his herd of females in a big open river drainage in north India 25 years ago. I knew I had to stand my ground in order to survive. I managed to stand tall and still. The bull did the same as in this video except after his charge he went back and stood in front of the females ready to flatten me if I went that direction. I moved away and soon he went back to insuring he would have lots of children. This is something I will never forget.

Moral of the story: Stand your ground when a wild animal charges you. (Except lions, tigers, leopards, jaguars, pumas, hippos, gorillas, snakes, warthogs, buffalo and honey badgers.)

Dude knows even the big animals are afraid of the unknown. Especially when the unknown appears to not be intimidated... making the unknown even more strange and scary. But Ivan is right, bull elephants are amazing. Praises to God for creating such an incredible animal!
