After years of decline, Detroit is now on the rise. Unlike many of the formerly Manufacturing cities of have declined and remain depressed, Detroit is rising up. We show this now beautiful city on the shores of the Detroit River in this Aerial & Ground tour of the Midwest's 2nd Largest City, only behind Chicago.

Stock footage from this video is available for purchase, contact Tampa Aerial Media.

Detroit is older than our country, founded in 1701. The city grew largely to its automobile industry, but also fell with the automobile industry. Today, however the once bankrupt city is now rising with an explosive real estate market in the downtown corridor.

We feature the People Mover in this video which was opened in 1987. It is a monorail style 2.9 mile loop around downtown with 13 stops at a fare of 75 cents. We show Ford Field home of the Lions, and Comerica Park home of the Tigers. We had meant to also show Joe Louis Arena home of the Red Wings. It is right next to the Cobo Center, and we simply saw that and was thinking we had shot the arena but didn't.

The Renaissance Center is the most impressive and modern looking of the downtown Skyscrapers. It is the world head quarters of General Motors. It is so large it has its own Zip Code. 10,000 empolyees work in this building.

The neighborhoods are now being developed. Detroit's a big city. Can't do all of it at once.

Detroit has always been on the rise! It is a gritty place with heart. I lived in Windsor but spent most of my time in Detroit. I must say the camera work makes it look phenomenal!!!

Very nice video! Really shows the beauty of our city! 10-15 years ago you couldn’t even walk around downtown during the day! Let alone at night! It’s come such a long way! Makes me proud to be born and raised here.

I can tell you this video is not Propaganda. Certainly, yes we do look for the positives and we are going to focus on that. Admittedly I am an outsider, but I am also one who have profiled other northern cities. Cities like Buffalo, Cleveland, Chicago, who have worse problems than Detroit and do not have the metro area revitalization that Detroit is having. Yes there are still struggles, but that is what makes Detroit so special. When you have had to overcome alot, you become stronger. God Bless the good people of Detroit, and keep up the good fight, believe it or not you are doing better than many other Northern Cities.

They have done a great job in the "Down Town Area" …. and yes I think Detroit is making a good come back ……. its got a ways to go to be sure …. but its improving …. The outer areas are still pretty bad ……. I go to Detroit for work about 2 or 3 times a month ……. been doing this for the past 20 years … I have seen the improvement ITS REAL …. I never thought I would say this, but I LIKE DETROIT !!

There's absolutely nothing wrong with Detroit; it's some of the people living there that is the problem.

As a native of Detroit, I thank you for this video. It really justifies how far this city has become and how beautiful it truly is. I also love your videos of northern Michigan. People sleep on this state and your videos prove why people should come visit! Lots to see and do. Thank you :)

I live in Detroit, its coming back. The neighborhoods have more community involvement in some areas. A lot of new Parks have been built. It's work in progress! Great camera work!

I have lived in Detroit downtown since 1991. I always enjoyed the city, despite its reputation and dangerous aspects, and I can certify that in the last five years the city downtown and Midtown has absolutely exploded into a wonderful place to live in. Many of the neighborhoods surrounding still need a lot of attention, and frankly, I don’t know if they will ever get it. However, the city core is absolutely fabulous. It’s such a cool city, so much to do, great architecture and people, wonderful restaurants and parks. Canada is five minutes away and a great place to visit during the day, Belle Isle since the state is taking over is absolutely beautiful, it’s the largest island city park in the United States and looks wonderful. Great museums, fabulous sports venues, tons of restaurants, there’s so much to do it’s really a great place to live in. I always find it amusing with the haters on here who absolutely refuse to acknowledge what’s going on, they generally live miles and miles away, or have never returned in recent years, yet continue to to trash it all the time. Live here, like I have for the last 25 years plus and I can certify that this town is turning around beautifully.

I love that you did this video! I grew up in Detroit and the narrative that I would often hear from outsiders always had me like 😒...”but, how are you going to tell me about the city I grew up in”. Like most places, there are developed and under developed areas. “Good parts”/“bad parts”. Just with the decline of the auto industry there was clear economic impact. But, let’s not forget the gospel, jazz, electronic, rock, rap and sports. Talk about grit, grind, humility and realness all mixed into one place. This is Detroit.

Detroiters have always had an Attitude like a Phoenix " we rise from the ashes!" Dust ourselves off and keep pushin!
