Investigators with the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office Internal Affairs division have completed an investigation into a JSO traffic stop where a local veteran claims he was the victim of racial profiling.

As usual the Internal Affairs department is playing CYA mode. If his tint was allegedly so dark then why didn't he get a ticket. Their own bodycams show that they never gave a reason for the stop because they didn't have a reason. Officer Pepper said "we saw you talking with someone at the store." And of course they fall back on the old "we smell marijuana." claim. But that couldn't of happened till after the unlawful stop. It seems that the cops and IA still think they can lie when their own bodycams prove different. I hope his lawsuit is successful. This is obviously another rogue "task force" that thinks laws don't apply to them. They were surely disappointed when they couldn't drum up a reason to arrest or even cite this poor veteran. "There was "shake" on the cars carpet." Another blatant lie or they would have charged him for it. All just another prime example of arrogant aggressive thug cops violating citizens rights and most likely with their management's urging and consent. They can't ask for budget increases if they don't have the arrests to back it up.

If these departments really wanted their respect and trust from the community back, they’d hold officers like this one accountable, instead of just shuffling them around until the media attention dies down.

Jacksonville PD doesn’t understand the long-term cost to their disgusting actions of their officers. There’s more public individuals than there are officers in the streets, perhaps one sad day they’ll come to understand this fact😮

Good follow up, initiate civil proceedings and hold them accountable. Your lawyer should also contact the local US Attorney for possible civil rights violations against the officer, especially with his high complaints against police on him, he’s a loose cannon and his agency is protecting him instead of serving the public.

Since when is a felony traffic stop warranted for tint? Please don’t insult the American public. Anytime you ask a cop “why” and their answer is - I’ll tell you in a second - it means they need time to make something up.
