Shoutout to Breakneck for being the OG owner of this perk

Yeah I'm sticking with Destab. Is a sudo damage increase in itself (reliably only against adds), allows for better ammo economy, and synergizes with it's own Radiolaria trait amazingly well and that's not even including the doubled up volatile proccing with Gyrfalcons/Volatile rounds.

ADS fires fast enough when held down and the hip fire also dumps quick enough. In almost any DPS window I'm going to use a Heavy weapon. Even if I use Choir of One as a part of my rotation I'm not going to say proc BnS on Edge Transit or an RL, swap to Choir of One, and then get add kills just to get Onslaught going only to swap off of it to reproc BnS.

It's fine if you plan on using Choir of One as your main DPS option but to use Onslaught you need those add kills, which is more of your reserves you're using, and you're also going to be down 1-3 shots unless you reload first, adding more time you're not damaging the boss.

Along with the artifact mod going away and the reserve nerf/fix, I just don't realistically see a use for Onslaught over Subsistence or Destab. I'd much rather Onslaught on primary weapons and heavy MGs.

All three are good for different things.
1. Subsistence is good overall, allows for maximum weapon uptime, especially when the auto rifle reloader artifact perk goes away. Let’s say you have 5 bullets in the mag and get a multi kill with the hipfire, bam, an almost full mag.

2. Destabilising is the best for a few reasons, some will matter for different people and play styles. First of all it’s easily the most ammo efficient, with destabilising volatile explosions essentially reducing the amount of ammo you need to use. It has great add clear and by the qualities of the weapon it removes a few weaknesses of Destabilising often present on other weapons. Firstly, when using Destabilising, a major weakness is that after you get the initial kill, you still need to then shoot/hit/kill those effected to get the explosion. In this way I see the perk as even weaker than headstone, because at least that freezes enemies in close proximity. A common work around this weakness is to either use Volatile rounds, because the AoE explosion can do enough damage to detonate those made volatile by the perk, but it’s inconsistent, or use a perk like dragonfly, with almost always does enough damage, but is placed on unfavourable weapons as a way to balance it. Choir covers both these methods by have both incredibly high damage per round, thus making it effortless to trigger the explosion, plus it has two AoE effects that trigger the Destabilising volatile, on rapid kills, Choir has both a void explosion and spawns a radioloria pool. Destabilising obviously is good for Gyrfalcon hunters, but destabilising rounds volatile kills activated Devour for Warlocks on Void and Prismatic, because it counts as an ability kill.

3. Hardest to recommend, but the deadliest against high health targets. This will get worse when the nerf rolls around, but anyone can see the glaring issue which is the ammo economy, it tears through ammo. I would recommend using this perk when you have a good understanding of the content you are playing, as well as using Special finisher and void ammo scav. Additionally, when facing red bars, only tap fire the weapon because you want to limit the amount of ammo you waste. Unless you have plenty of ammo to spare, limit your usage of the hipfire mode and only really use it on champions, which it obliterates btw. Instead try to mainly use the ads form, because Onslaught turn the ads form into a monster.

I use this gun with just about every load out so far, it's that damn good. Buuuttt I really want destabilizing rounds!! My goodness this gun is way to fun to use. Also I notice that I use this gun like a scout rifle a lot of the time. I don't want to waste extra ammo, so just tapping the trigger definitely works for me.

if choir had explosive payload it would be the closest thing to a wh40k assault bolter.

I really love what they did with this gun. It feels EXOTIC.

For anyone that just wants the gun and does not have the time to do all the failsafe specimen things or do the act 3 history, if you have a friend that already has done everything this episode, make him/her to launch the mission, you will have access to all 3 intrinsics and catalysts to do in 1 go, because the mission will be in him/her version, not the "overture" that you should have... sadly you need to get to the beggining of act 3 of the episode to get the exotic at the end of the mission (to my understanding at least) Good luck to everyone!

I have it unlocked!! This thing shreds! I put on added ammo on my chest piece. So I get up to 330-350

Tried them all. Destabilizing rounds is the best for PVE and basically PVP

I wish you included an example of keeping the onslaught burst going because it's actually insane. Kill some ads for x3, start blowing thy load all over a boss, and you can reload and kill an ad without losing your stacks so you keep blowing more loads over and over. With Gyrfalcons you can already get volatile, devour, and invis so throwing on choir of one with onslaught is by far one of the best build I've ever used, even in high end content. Already put in 15k kills.

Bungie just take the cooldown off of destabilizing rounds and throw a collect orbs for volatile rounds fragment into void 3.0 lets put void back in the map!

Moving cerberus to a special auto would pick it up sooo much

You can gain stacks of onslaught if you get grenade kills if the grenade matches the element type of the weapon that has the perk onslaught on it

I'll keep subsistance over the others, with prismatic it's super easy to proc volatile, which dunks on destabilizing.
Onslaught is nice to gun something down quickly, but I'd rather not reload as much.
Subsistance is 1:1 BTW. If you use 5 to get a kill, you get 5 back, so if you play it right you barely reload

As a soloplayer DPS has never been as important as Total Damage. For me Destabilising Rounds is easily the best.

Surprisingly I'm doing steady using onslaught, ammo economy wise. As for how I want to use the perks, I'd use subsistence once the episode is done, destabilising on non-hunter, and onslaught on hunter. So, the subsistence is to provide longevity in how longer I have before I reload, but the issue is how frequent I manually reload after the mag hits the number 0 so for me it is a matter of "Should I train myself to stop hitting the reload button so much at the end" since that happens frequently. Destabilising rounds allows me to spec into more void-related builds on Warlock and Titan, so for ad clear. Due to the weapon being special, it is stronger and paired with the fact it's an exotic, I can use it to clear ads faster on warlock and titan. Onslaught is more to make things faster, and since my hunter build in terms of fragments (on void, mostly cause prismatic takes too long to do stuff with for gyrfalcons) has the capability to use volatile to its advantage the orbs and abilities can be more frequent. I suppose it's a matter of what your builds do and how you play, because for my reload habits, onslaught is just better for me over the other options.
