The Byrds - Lady Friend (1967) (1987 Never Before re-mix)

A 1987 re-mix of The Byrds' 1967 single Lady Friend, which was composed by David Crosby (1941-2023). This re-mix, which was done for the 1987 rarities compilation Never Before, includes a new drum track overdubbed in place of Michael Clarke's original drum part, which (IMO) was erratic, less solid and overly busy.

Another Croz masterpiece, wonderful harmonies held together by his uncomparable voice

Cleanest version I've ever heard. I bought the single when it was released. The production was so bad you couldn't hardly make out the words. Thank you.

I love all the photos of Monterey Pop during setup, with Brian Jones and others. David was soon to go on and indulge himself with a truly nutter rant, unfortunately. What a huge influence Monterey had on American music.

Those horns… right out of the Prisoner.

Bogus!!!! It's not a "remix" it's a bastardization with a 1980's drum track tacked on. Pointless and un-necessary.
