Saying it like that, implies that Phelps couldn’t have done it without this suit because it gave him that much advantage, like he didn’t have what it takes without this suit. It’s very minimizing to say about someone’s athletic abilities.

People act like the supersuit is the reason he won when in reality yes the suit helped a bit but you still needed to train and have breath control and underwater control and stroke rate practice so while yes the suit helps you still gotta train your butt off to achieve that
