Good advice for a friendly warm up for a friendly match. If it was a tournament I would watch it warmed up and stretch completely before you walk out to the court. Use the 5 minutes that USTA gives you to start analyze your opponent and come up with some game plan strategy. Assuming the opponent is doing the same you may not want to show your strengths And make sure you're weaknesses are. well disguised.

I would suggest warming up by walking/running for 5 minutes, then stretch and touch your toes 3 times before the hitting warm up. You want to be sure especially as you get over 30 years old to make sure you are warmed up and ready to stop and bend in a match or else you will injure your back like I did.

My last opponent was a non-cooperative warmer-upper. Short angle volleys off the court and everything. Hate.

Ryan...how much time do you dedicate to Volleys, Overheads and the Serve?

This is my favorite gripe when I warm up with other 3.5 level players. Many tend to hit hard or hit at angles to the sidelines at me while I am trying to be the good guy and hit to the middle towards them. I don't know if they just can't control their swings or if they are being jerks.

Do you have any pre match stretch videos

At amateur level, I observe (in UK) little, if any, attention to physical warm-up, stretching before & after, hitting soft, etc including in coached sessions.
Why so?
Seems not so smart to me

Thanks for excellent content

Omg I should share this with our club/Usta league.
How many times I get pegged in a warm up for a match! Annoying.

I have observed how professionals hit soft in warm-up.
But when match starts, they immediately wack it!

Надо надеть кепку и нарядную теннисную одежду. Не надо одеваться на корте как колхозник!

No offense Ryan, but I’ve noticed when you take the racquet back on a forehand or backhand, your elbows aren’t out. Neither in the ready position. And your backhand follow through doesn’t finish over your shoulders. Instead, you tend to stop at head level. Maybe you’re getting old or something, just letting you know.
