Since people keep asking, let me address my thought process for the final score:

I was lumping both the Switch pro controller and the Joy-Con together for one score. The Switch Pro Controller is my favorite controller of all time but I felt that since these controllers both represent the Switch so well, they deserved to share the score, hence the 4/5.

That'll be all. Carry on chaps.

My favorite is definitely the Wii Remote,
I mean what other Controller can you throw at other people and then say you forgot to put on the wrist strap.

Three points I'd like to get across:

1.) This video was excellent - great scripting, editing, and presentation. Very entertaining. 👌
2.) While I agree with almost all of your points, it's amazing to me how subjective this can still be. My all-time favorite Nintendo controllers are the Joy-Con, the Wii Remote + Nunchuk, and the N64 pad!
3. If I knew you were going to disparage the N64 in this vid, I would have politely declined the cameo. 😡

(issa joke. good job jacob 5/5)

Great video but you can't go wrong with an NES Controller.

Yes, I love how it destroys my thumbs with soreness after an hour of playing; it's great

Hey, I'd say a more appropriate title would be "rating" not "ranking"

A bit too harsh on the WiiMote. There were a lot of games that used the controller setup beautifully. Super Mario Galaxy, Metroid Prime 3, and yes, I even count Skyward Sword as being masterclasses in this area. In Galaxy, it platforming with Mario just felt natural and fluid. Swinging the the Wiimote to execute the Spin move was a genius idea and its user of the pointer in the pull star sections were wonderfully implemented. Metroid Prime 3 was an FPS dream with its Wiimote use, allowing full, unrestricted control to your gun movements with simple motion. It felt much better than an analog stick. (It's the same reason why Gyro controls work so well in Splatoon 2.

As for Skyward Sword? HOLY SHIT. Say what you will about its linearity. Say what you will about its handholding. But you CANNOT tell me that control setup wasn't absolute genius. It felt SO good to swing your sword with your own motions. It made the Swordplay come alive, not only with offense but with defensive maneuvers as well. (Shield bashing was so satisfying to pull off) Then you had mechanics and items that felt just as good. The Beetle is probably the best item in any Zelda game ever! Full 360 control AND it allowed you to see paths ahead you couldnt reach! Simply put, it all just felt so natural compared to everything that came before it.

I totally get why Nintendo threw all of that out the window for more traditional controls in BOTW but MAN am I disappointed they did. It was such a brilliant control scheme and I miss it dearly. Mashing Y a bunch just doesn't feel the same. I will die on this sword, I love this control scheme to death.

Obviously the Wiimote was far from perfect but what it did well, it did REALLY well.

I absolutely love the Pro controller and the GameCube controller. They’re pretty good in button response, and they both have very good functionality

I think the wiimote is comfortable to use for NES games. Sorry.

The switch pro controller would be the best if it had a better dpad

I never got why the 64 controller gets a bad rep. People act like you HAVE to hold all three prongs at once but...you don't. Ever. The way the n64 controller was designed so that they could implement a 3D control scheme while also keep the potential for 2D games to have that traditional controller feel. So if you're playing Super Mario 64, Legend of Zelda, etc. you place your left hand in the middle prong and waggle that little stick around to your heart's content. But if you're playing 2D games you would put your left hand on the left prong to use the d-pad. But as with a lot of features of Nintendo controllers, this was really underutilized as game devolopers were all about that hip new 3rd dimension that was all the craze back then. I don't know, I just feel like it's not as bad as people make it out to be. The Z-button right under that joystick, you could not ask for a better button to long jump with. But maybe I'm just nostalgia blind. But this was a good video none the less.

I personally like the joy-cons, if they’re in the grip. It just feels right to use, for me at least. (Probably because most of my time on smash 4 was on 3DS, and the 2 joy-cons do share similarities, control wise.)

I have a feeling those ratings were kinda arbitrary. Why were the SNES/GC controllers above the switch pro controller? SNES was solid for it's time but it can hurt to hold after too long. GC was almost perfect except it had way too small of a d-pad (And for me, a big-hand boi, handles that were way too small) You said switch pro was your favorite and had no complaints with it, and then gave it a 4? I was kind of expecting you to give it a 6/5 with how much you were praising it. A good video, but it kinda feels like IGN's rating system was applied here, and it would've been better without the ratings at all.

Personally I think the Wii pro controller (with the grips) is the most comfortable controller I've ever used.

The Wii u gamepad is really comfortable, it feels just like an xbox controller just with more space between each hand

The best controller is obviously the Nintendo GameCube controller. The second best is the Wii U Pro Controller (yes, it counts).
