Meet Joseph A. Ippolito, MD, Orthopaedic Oncologist. Dr. Ippolito’s goals in patient care are to maximize restoration of function and provide optimal pain relief in the setting of limb and life-threatening illnesses such as bone and soft tissue sarcomas, benign bone and soft tissue tumors, and metastatic bone disease. Orthopaedic oncology is a multidisciplinary effort that requires a team approach for optimal treatment, often including the expertise of colleagues in pathology, radiology, medical oncology, radiation oncology, plastic surgery, and vascular surgery. Dr. Ippolito and his team work to prioritize the patient’s goals and expectations for care, working collaboratively to achieve this aim whenever possible. Dr. Ippolito is affiliated with RWJBarnabas Health Medical Group, Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center, Newark Beth Israel Medical Center, Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, and Rutgers Cancer Institute – the state’s only NCI-designated comprehensive cancer center.
