What's Hollywood REALLY LIKE? Join me for a narrated walking tour of the Hollywood Walk of Fame starting at the Dolby Theatre at Hollywood and Highland, and ending at the Pantages Theatre at Hollywood and Vine. On this walk you'll find that Hollywood Blvd isn't actually as glamourous as you see on television!

We took our son to the Graumans Chinese Theater when he was probably around age six and they had an Angry Bird guy in a costume. My son wanted a photo, so the guy posed with him and all I had was $1 to tip and he got REALLY mad at us and started swearing. My son said, "he's a REALLY angry, Angry Bird!" 🤣 I'll never forget that!

It’s just not safe in Hollywood right now. Even in the day time. I see it all to often. Please be aware of your surroundings if you plan to visit.

The subway is great we used it from our hotel at universal to Hollywood Boulevard and Santa Monica it’s much cleaner than the tube and New York subway and not too busy.

This video brought back fun memories of searching for our favourite stars and just doing silly touristy stuff like the waxworks and Ripleys - thanks Chris!

Enjoyed the walk, thanks. My daughter and I stayed at the Loews hotel for a couple of nights, it was nice but it alwalys felt a bit scary of a night returning to it.

For my taste, Hollywood Boulevard is grimy, low-class, and aggravating enough to be designated a Hall of Shame, more than anything else. For the international tourists who are into collecting certain traveling trophies like ‘been there, done that’ it might be worth a 5-minute visit, during the daytime hours. But whatever you do, do NOT walk the Hollywood Boulevard at night, ; especially if you’re a tourist, or you’ll be hassled like crazy, or possibly even take your life in your hands.
Chris, your presentational enthusiasm and charm make even the grimiest of all places look like interesting destinations to visit. 😀

Great video and very informative, loved that you took the time to show us around the boulevard and the area and not just ta couple of the usual most popular tourist attractions. Thank you! I noticed that the pavements and the roads are in desperate need of maintenance and of course all these homeless people living on the street or in tents in one of the most famous and touristy roads in the world. It's surprising how the municipality and the relevant authorities in general have left this place so unattended, shame.

as much as i loved the Boulevard, it was sincerely tarnished by how MANY tourists were there when we visited, as well, we litterally Saw someone get stabbed right at the Metro station waiting for the bus back to the hotel, i feel Everything surrounding that strip was Waaay waaay more under rated and Better to checkout, better food, better prices, etc. Tho, the strip is worth visiting at least once. Great coverage dude!! hope ta see you back in canada soon Dude!

This was the best ever. I moved to LA in 1971 to work in the TV industry and indeed I did for a long time. I finished off my career as a director of sitcoms.

My old stomping grounds! I grew up in Hollywood. Spent my days watching movies in the Hollywood Blvd theaters including the Chinese and the Egyptian. The Chinese sure has changed. And not for the better. I remember when it had a box office out front! Ah it;s been a while since I've seen the street beggars and the people talking to themselves, lol. Every time I go there the Egyotian seems to be under construction. I waited 3 hours in line in 1980 to see Empire Strikes Back. I used to stop off at the Cahuenga news stand to buy comics and Starlog magazine when I was a kid. Nice to see the old grungy neighborhood again Chris! It may not be pretty but I have some good memories growing up there.

I’ve really enjoyed this, we come in April and it was useful to see what’s actually there including food options as you walk. It allowed me to look at how far things were walking distance as we get a tour from much further down

This was quite a great tour of Hollywood Blvd and the Walk of Fame! It was really interesting to see what it actually looked like. Overall, with the exception of a few sights, it does not look that appealing to me. It definitely feels very touristy in many areas, and I know there are a lot more appealing and awesome areas to explore in LA when I've watched the other walking tours. Thanks for the tour! I enjoyed watching this one!

Hi Chris. Thank you so much for sharing. A few years back, way before Covid, we went to Hollywood because we signed up for free tickets to watch America’s Got Talent and we stayed at Loews. It was kind of dirty in Hollywood with trash spew on the streets. It was also so sad to see so many homeless. We enquired and waited for our AGT tickets—and nothing. Next day, we checked out of the hotel and drove home. Three hours after we got home, we got an email to come pick up our tickets. 🙄🤷🏽‍♀️ So we just went to a Ramen shop in our area, which was more enjoyable than our entire trip to Hollywood.

Hi Chris. Thanks for the walking.I agree that many tourist go see the other parts of the Walk of Fame. I was surprised that when you walk away from the tourist area, it tends to get a little sketchy. Love the architecture of the area.

Wow! That is NOT how I imagined Hollywood to look like. Absolutely Shocking. It looks like it could do with a wash. I was very disappointed. But once again, Such an amazing video, extremely informative.

Am Most forgot to ask, am I right to say, back in the day there was a Karate School somewhere in this street called Sherman Oaks Karate?
