You're spot on about the board being underneath you and having to push it forward with the pop. The two things I focus on for nollie flips are: push the nose forward (back foot will bring it back with the flick) and nose has to pop (easy to miss the pop if I'm too focused on pushing the nose forward). So basically I try to push down and forward with the front foot. And by forward I mean the direction I'm moving. Not forward like a scoop for nollie shuv.

For me nollie flips are all in the shoulders. I couldn't do them for the longest time until I started facing my shoulders forward instead of to the side as soon as I done that my nollie flips improved massively

P.S. if you're having trouble getting the flick hang more of your foot off the board than you think you need to and flick sooner.

This is what I do with nollie heels which I do switc as well, my balance with switch flips is so off but I suffer from a knee injury so it's probably why I'm real wobbly with switch flips
