So we started a new character on PC and currently at SHD level 14 and already clearing Challenging in 3 hours of level 40. I think we can push Heroic with a few more pieces.

Another good tip is when you see it say "poor network connection" on the bottom left, or you feel lag, you can go to social and change your server region to local. Helps a ton

As a returning player who has a multitude of incomplete builds I think my hardest issue is understanding what builds I can use for pvp and pve. As creative as some of my builds are I'm also having a slight problem understanding the stats for each build I make but I'm sure with time and effort I'll be able to fix it.

Note: He is using the gunner specialization and the technician laser pointer, so if you want those you need the Year One Pass, which is best to get as a package deal with the Ultimate edition. The gunner specialization increases the run and gun play style due to its bonuses.

I remember when i first came to WT5.
Started off with heartbreaker, then slowly built up confidence to bulwark. Armor was important then.
But after getting used to the controls and enemies, i went for hunter's fury. Running and gunning.
Ultimately i settled for a full set of red core striker.
I've dominated in pve heroic missions ever since.

I have this same build now level 20. And on hard I get wrecked. One hit from the enemy and half my health drops. Not sure what I am doing wrong. Game is very frustrating.

Watch level 38 or so. On hard at the moment, using either umbra initiative/ strikers slowly melt enemies, But always trying to improve. Great vid
