Munich Seminar on 23 April 2018 with Robert Koopman, Chief Economist and Director of the Research and Statistics Department of the WTO.

There has been growing concern over weaker trade growth compared to GDP increases in recent years. In conjunction with stronger criticism of globalization, this surge in protectionism could put an end to, or lead to a reversal of globalisation. In his speech Prof. Koopman will focus on the key factors driving trade growth, as well as the role of trade in economic development. He will also offer an overview of the factors influencing trade growth in the future, which could lead to a change in the nature of trade.
