As an old Gas RC guy this print your plane thing is the stuff of dreams 40yrs ago! Just ordering a 3D printer.. My kids are talking robots and stuff and will be really excited about learning 3d printing. We will not be short of ideas and stuff to design and print for sure. Thanks for the videos sure brings back memories. By the way APC props were started as a retirement hobby by a member of the club I was at as a kid. He would bring us props to test on our planes. Our once a yr club pylon race he always had the fastest plane😆

10 out of 10 for the build, the flying, the camera work and for not getting CA on your fingers that takes me a couple of days to pick off 👍😊

I’ve been watching and subscribed to your channel for a few weeks. Trying a 3D Lab Zero and it kills me to see how easily all of your pieces key together. Mine are always a struggle. Lots of help watching your videos and it’s getting better printing them but this thin wall printing is a steep curve for me. Thanks for the great videos.

Always great to watch your new videos Troy. Love the wing catch design. Excellent job .... Nice to see your missus get involved too. Most become RC widows lol. Really firing me up to get back into the hobby, but utilising the power of 3d printing. ... 🇬🇧

Yay...your finally getting around to some 3dLabPrint planes :) The P-51 is one of their earlier ones so they are a bit more difficult to build but the early wing ribbing design on this and the Spitfire MK XVI is still my favorite wing build.

Tom's Mustang... He actually owns and flys it, has been at the Planes of Fame Museum in Chino CA. I got some good photos of it for reference since you can walk right up to it in the hangar.

Been watching you videos for quite some time. Have followed your printing recommendations for LW-PLA and do not get what I would call "acceptable" results. I have built several different Eclipson planes, the Shark, and this P51 and in PLA all come out fantastic! Use a PRUSA Clone, Voxelab Aquila, ANYCUBIC Kobra and ANYCUBIC vyper all fantastic with PLA - no luck with LW-PLA yet... Can you PLEASE do a show on e-sun LW-PLA and show Eclipson A profile for LW-PLA and what a part should weigh and what it looks like UP CLOSE when you print it? Thanks

Another excellent job dude!!! I'm printing mine on a Tenlog TL-D3 Pro. Could you please post a link for the decal labels that you utilize along with any tips. Please and thank you.

Thanks Troy. Great video. I’ve built a whole set of 3DLabs planes and have also scaled down both the Spitfire and P51 Mustang. I’ll post some videos once I start flying again. Nice build. I’ll try TPU hinges next time.

you got it done. i'm back in the rc-air hobby, started with the piper cub (hey it's free so why not) now it's the f4u corsair's turn. i only don't get the wing tip right. the angle is so large that space is created at the last 30 layers.
Does anyone have an idea how I can close it?

I'm surprised the masking tape on the servos holds well enough. Personally I use an old trick from my RC car racing days and glue them in with Shoe Goo. Shoe Goo holds through even the hardest crash but is removable later so you can re-use the servo.

i bought this model a long time ago, really wish they'd update it with landing gear and some other modernizations to the design like filament hinges. broke 3 of the things landing in soft grass

Great video! 3d labprint should bring out an LW version of all of these plane series (mustang, spitfire, me-109 etc.)
Thumbs up for flying and filming!
