Shocker twist -  who might ACTUALLY be responsible for the high price?

The day is here and Mondo is officially in the 1/12 scale business with the real Ghostbusters Peter Venkman!!  the controversy is the high price now I know this is the first figure to ever cost $100 ( except for mezco, Mafex, and countless others) but maybe there’s another reason why these cost what they do and most important, will they be mine??

I reached out to Mondo customer service about the shipping price. I have been told that they are about to introduce free domestic shipping on large orders, and my own shipping charge was refunded. So, if you're on the fence about the two-packs because of the shipping charge, it won't be an issue. Mondo did the right thing for their customers and the smart thing for their business model, and now I'm all-in. Major props to Mondo!

By the time you get all 4 (exclusive sets) the set will have cost about $1000 (including the shipping and tax). I have a hard time wrapping my head around that…even as a huge Real Ghostbusters fan.

I’ve wanted cartoon accurate figures of Real Ghostbusters to kind of go with my Super 7 ultimates of the other 80’s cartoons, and Neca’s TMNT line. Didn’t know about Diamond Selects Real Ghostbusters line they did years ago until recently, but they are going for almost the same price as these on EBay. Might as well get the Mondo new ones with better sculpt and articulation.

Excellent video!!! I agree with everything you said, these look great and knowing it's hasbro mark up and not greed that you're paying, makes it easier to pull the trigger but $31 for shipping... 🤦🏻‍♂️

Price was giving me doubt, shipping put me off. Ill stick with my Diamond Select versions, they're decent enough. I wish they were selling Sam Hain separately too.

Fantastic looking figures but that price is crazy, in all fairness the mondo figures in general are expensive. I Wonder if they made figures of specifically the Extreme Ghostbusters would they be the same price or a bit lower.

Regarding the price, licensing, etc., I believe it was also mentioned at SDCC that not only do they have to pay & satisfy the demands of Hasbro with these, but also the companies that hold the media rights to Ghostbusters & the cartoon itself. So that means even more licensor approval hoops to jump through & smaller pieces of the pie being shared amongst all the parties involved. Notice the Sony & Columbia Pictures stuff in the bottom-left corner of the promo image. I think I also heard the name "Ghost Corp." mentioned with regards to all this.

I don't care about the price. I'm with you. I want it. I look at the crappy hasbro figures that I've coughed up $25 bucks for and I end up mad that I spent 25 on something that sort of sucks. But every nice figure I have, I never look at it and get mad about the price. If the quality is there, and it WILL BE, I'm happy. the money doesn't matter.
