To save time, United Airlines says it will board people with window seats first, then middle seats and then those in the aisle.

From the back to the front makes more sense. No obstructions, and families get to board together.

Then in 6 months… $49 premium for window, $29 for middle, $19 for aisle, $0 to not pick your seat. Quote me.

I am an aisle person too! If the aisle people get on last, then they should be allowed to exit first!

Finally they are being efficient I’ve been saying this for years now they gotta start from back to front too 😊

Yes this will work out sooo well especially with families and children traveling. Definitely not nerve wracking at all to let you child stay behind as you board or vice versa.

In the military (going on commercial/charter flights) we alway went back to front on the windows, back to front for middle seats and back to front for isle seats. We could load a 767 in about 20 minutes.

I've gone on planes where after preboarding, they have the back third, then middle third, then front third board and I think that worked out well. It didn't seem to mess with the carry-on storage either because people would still only use the storage in their area

They need to make sure everyone has a spot for their carry on bag then. That’s the only reason I would ever want to get on the plane first. I always get on last and have to check my bag

They should pre-seat passengers in containers, like they do with checked bags, then load them up 50 at a time 😊

when a family with kids is sitting on the same aisle:

They've been doing this in Japan for a while (at least some airlines) and it works very well. If you're seated together with someone, they will let you board together so no groups will be split up

They need to assign overhead spaces to those seats so the person before you doesn't take your overhead space. If they do that, there should be no problems.

I literally just flew back home from Costa Rica and had 1 flight change. It absolutely needs to be back to front!! And when deboarding the plane they need to enforce front to back and not allowing people to push their way past. Everything would be soo much smoother

Back to the front makes the most sense.

ABOUT ALL AIRLINES NEED TO DO THIS!!! I travel every week, and the current boarding process is ridiculous

I’d love to see them fully enforce the one carryon overhead and make people stow their personal items underneath the seat in front of them. So many trying to sneak personal items overhead not leaving room for everyone.

This is why I fly Southwest. 2 FREE checked bags and no assigned seats. Boarding is based on your own online/app check in.

❤❤ I remember way back in the 80s the people in the back were the first one to go on board and it was peaceful and cordial

They should board from the back like a Lufthansa that prevents so much chaos

I remember being so upset that I paid extra for a window seat then they go and say “it’s free seating” while boarding. Um, no, I paid for a window seat, so I’m getting a window seat.
