The cross number question took me forever as I didn't realise until the end that the numbers already written weren't digits included in the answers so I was trying to think of a fourth power starting with one and ending with 3.

For Q5 wouldn't it be easier to spot that half of the triangle is a Pythagorean triple triangle (spotting that the slant is 5cm, base is 3 and so the height would be 4) than you would just do 6x4 divided by 2 which is 12

For q15 (for the sake of a more algebraic solution) you could call the number of people who played neither sport x, and the number who played both b, so the total number of people in the class = 7x - b (basketball players = 4x, football players = 2x). Set this equal to 30 and rearrange to get 30 + b = 7x. The only two options for b that work are 19 and 5, and then you plug each into the equation to figure out that 19 isn't possible, since then 19 would play both and 14 would play football altogether. This is what I did during the exam so it might not be the best solution, but it removes a bit of the legwork of trial and error. If anyone has a purely algebraic solution please say :)

for q23, you know that when you fold the paper, the pentagon consists of half of the paper + a leftover Right angled triangle. can you not find the area of the pent by just finding the area of the rta and adding it to 3/2

I did the completely wrong method for Q10, yet ended up with the right answer somehow! Got 85 points... I think thats okay😅
