Unser liebe Fraue--[Holy Roman Mercenary song]--(special version)

-History:
Unser liebe Fraue is a German folk song about the mercenaries named "landsknecht". The German 'Landsknechts' were an important military force composed of mercenary foot soldiers who offered their services to emperors, kings and nobles throughout the late 15th and 16th centuries . Consisting predominantly of German pike men and supporting foot soldiers, they achieved a reputation for their skill and expertise on the field. They were also well known for their colorful and flamboyant uniforms. The song was published in 1916, but the lyrics were derived from late medieval poems.

-The maps:
The first map shows the HRE in 1530, wich is around the time the Landsknechts were created as a mercenary company. The second map however, represents the HRE at it's territorial hight during the Hohenstaufen dynasty. The HRE, Landsknechts or christian religion goes hand in hand. I decided to add the second map aswell not only because I spend weeks making it, but also in a way to show the home of the landsknechts (HRE) in it's "glory" days.
