Had a bit of a run in with a masked bandit at my house. I guess there's a good reason why they say you need to install chimney caps.

Wow that's a steep roof!
Waiting them out also involves not using you fireplace all winter, not an option at my house! The worst scenario is anything wild coming into your house - they can do an incredible amount of damage feverishly trying to find a way out other than the chimney (do I sound like a guy who has experienced a squirrel in my house? I'm not, but my Dad was when I was a boy. 1 small squirrel:thousands of dollars of damage - imagine what a fat, angry, post partum raccoon could do!)
