It is also good to quantum to a random point and drop out in the middle of nowhere and then quantum to your destination. This is called dog-legging and it makes you unpredictable. Also, set your quantum destination before you open the hangar so you are not left vulnerable hanging around outside and can leg it the moment you clear the hangar.

2:20 This is totally backwards. NEVER open your hangar doors until you are prepared. Period.

I'm talking destination set, all systems go, and area scanned by cycling through all available targets.

Anything less and you're asking for it.

Every time I visit Pyro I always head to the middle of nowhere. Anywhere around POI’s is going to be where trouble is.

I always mine in the middle of nowhere, in both Stanton and Pyro, because despite the song there are no roads to nowhere.

When base building comes in, the middle of nowhere is where I want to be.

Really cannot stress enough the value of Keeping Alert. As someone who practiced the more advanced version of this in EVE while exploring wormholes, I can tell you how easy it is to “fall asleep at the wheel” (so to speak) when things have been quiet for a long time. Always keep your head on a swivel.

You made a good tactical suggestion to get the hell out of there if someone shows up and you're in the middle of nowhere. I'll have to remember that.

You always want to mine in middle of nowhere in Pyro. Been enjoying Pyro but I'm waiting on Nyx

Thank you for mentioning the number one rule of piloting in space- never fly AT what you want, but fly NEXT TO it. Most of the time, we're flying in the middle of nowhere, and everything is safe. But when we approach anything, it gets dangerous, and closure rates are hard to tell.

At least the middle of nowhere in Pyro looks pretty

so you're saying, the less you fuck around, the less you find out?

I did a lot of mining in Pyro and had most of my ore refined at Stantion Gateway. My problem was a bug that prevented me from quantum jumping to ArcCorp or MicroTech once I exited the Jump point from Pyro to Stanton. I lost so much to those bugs that I had to reset my character. I am sure those bugs are gone now. Someone was hanging around CIG monitoring and fixing servers all the way up to Christmas Eve

It's funny how much this advice mirrors best practices in Eve. Jump to the first place you can find, stop halfway so you're in the middle of nowhere, never jump directly from one marked place to another, etc.

I have certainly been venturing more and more to outposts with expendable equipment and ships but for the most part i have been out in the middle of nowhere trying to chance upon some wrecks that don’t have a POI and thus will likely have less chance of someone arriving mid salvage

Mining in the middle of nowhere has always been my preferred strategy - usually deep in the Aaron Halo. The risky part, as you pointed out, is that last mile back to the refinery where often you find some low-life ganker just looking for an easy target (and with a full hold of quantanium ore blinking away there's generally not a lot of time to mess around).

FUQ that place and this patch! I'll wait until CIG realizes that unfettered PVP is not going to work, long-term.

Great advice, and well delivered too. You have the most sonorous delivery of any SC youtube channel I've found so far. I feel like I'm listening to an official guide commissioned by an in-game mining and trading company.

These are invaluable tips which took a bit of time for me to learn. Thanks so much for sharing those with us
