These look amazing! I'd love to see a comparison between these and Tom's studio pens. They seem to be a similar concept but at a more affordable (and less luxurious) price point. I'm really glad more companies are creating this style of pen - that way, more people can enjoy all the cool fountain pen ink colors while still using the fineliner style they're used to.

I love the fact that you can customize the ink colors but truthfully I probably wouldn’t do it more than a couple times

Kuretake Ink Cafe sells empty pens you could probably add inks to (non glitter ink). In fact they look very similar to the ones in this video.

Great concept, and I’d definitely use it, but I love my Tom’s Studio version a lot more. Especially the metal finish instead of the plastic.

I’m also curious how these compare Tom’s studio. I tried the Wren on one of your recommendations and I’m obsessed! I’m also impressed by your journaling/planner styles. Very cool.

I like the idea of this. Part of what got me into fountain pens was the amount of waste in all the disposable pens I was going through. Even using refills, it was still a lot of plastic. Now I have a metal pen with converter and buy ink in large glass bottles. If I went through brush pens as easily as writing pens this would probably be my next pen purchase. I do wonder how the nibs (I assume they're all felt-tip material) hold up/wear down over repeated usage. This could also be useful for hard to find colors, but I'm not there yet.

This seems like a great entry level option for someone not sure if they want to splurge on one of those Tom's Studio pens, or something to tide them over while they save up for one. 🤔

Also reminds me of the Kuretake ink mixing kit, which I would love except for the single use pens, but apparently you just need craft tweezers?!

I'm interested in where to get refills, as well as how to clean them when not in use. If I just spent $40 on 1 time/1 colour pens I'm going to be so frustrated. I found some humidifier filter sticks that are the same size that I'm debating buying and cutting to fit (each stick would be 2 replacements, and only cost $3 for 20).

I ordered & received the brush tip & the 0.8mm tip Dabbler Pens + the Carousel Fountain Pen set, but I haven't put them to use just yet. I hope to do so soon, so I've put ink to paper, I'll definitely be in touch to let you know. BTW, FWP can thank you for being the 1 that swayed me into finally placing that order. 💯

How exciting! I see these pens be my tipping point for making a FWP purchase in the new year as I desperately try to reign in personal purchases before the holidays. Also: seconding the video suggestion comparing these pens to the Tom's Studio and other similar styles

How would they work lets say with the paper in a Hobo Cousin or Weeks? Would you recommend a different GSM? You did a great job showcasing these pens and i liked how you combined those 2 colors to create a unique one!

FWP looking to infiltrate or retrieve the market that Tom's grabbed.

Ferris Wheel Press has some of the most beautiful inks! What would happen if you just eyedroppered the ink in without the cotton thing? Does it have replaceable nibs if you want to change out colors? (Does FWP sell those little sampler size ink bottles on their site?) Have you tried using the shimmer in the inks with the fine liners or brush pens? Have you had any problems with that? (Also, you made a beautiful color with that ink…like Denim! I hadn’t thought about mixing inks and making new colors, particularly with ones that are too light to read or similar. I think someone sells different shimmer clear ink to mix inks with standard inks…it’s the glitter that brought me back to fountain pens!!

Do we know if these cartridges can be washed and a new colour used like for the Tom’s Studio pens?

Does the felt wash out easily for colour changing?

I’m a fan of FWP - but these seem like an overcomplicated version of the Tom’s Studio Lumos / Pro. You should do a comparison Stationary Devil.

Didn’t midori release this product first?
