Sir theres a calculator trick to find the probability values of Z values:

mode>stat(p[ress 3)>press AC>shift+1>press 5>press 1> and then insert the Z value

The way 5c) was explained here was rather detailed and a bit roundabout, which can be useful but also confusing. For anyone interested, there's another direct, simpler way to think about it, if you want.

Just remember, the Z value you calculate is just the number of standard deviations away from the mean your X value is. The formula calculates the magnitude of the deviation (X - μ) then divides it by the value of the standard deviation (/σ), think about what that means.

So, you could've skipped straight to P(Z < -1) + P(Z > 1) because you already know the values will be 1 standard deviation away to the left and right. OR, because you know they both are symmetrical and hence equivalent, 2*P(Z < -1) or 2*P(Z < 1), and hence 2*(1 - P(Z < 1)). Which leads you to the same result of 2 - 2*P(Z < 1). Hope this helps!!

For question 5 c), why didn’t you put the standard deviation of 2.27 into the equation, you have only put the mean (6.01) and the sigma sign.
