Independent courier jobs in North and South Carolina are notorious for having those in their contracts. It's the reason I no longer work in that industry, I refuse to agree to them. It has cost me several jobs, it's a practice that needs to be outlawed.

Unfortunately more and more companies require them. I mean just about all retail jobs do now, most customer service does, most factories do.

If you don't sign, your choices are being homeless or self employed in most states now.
These scumbags took full example of how sheeplike most people are. They'll sign literally anything put in front of them without reading it first. All people had to do is refuse to sign these agreements when they started doing this, and they would have stopped the practice almost immediately. They would have had no choice. They need employees.

This is what happened to me. With the BNSF Railroad. The supervisor who set this all in motion was the judge. I wanted to sue, but I couldn't get anyone(lawyer) to pursue my lawsuit.

We really need a reversal of the SCOTUS decision on arbitration clauses. People don’t actually have an ability to negotiate their contracts.
