I Paid OVER $1,000 for These Broken Handhelds - Let's Fix Them! These go for about $300 just for parts but if I can get them working they're worth $400-500. I have to deal with the power issues, corrosion, and a bunch of leaking capacitors. These handhelds from the 1990s are pretty cool though and fun to try and fix.

I took Steve's soldering course and found it to be a great intro for people new to it and also a great refresher for those who've done it before. Highly recommended.

Found one one of these a few years ago at a goodwill and had to pay up for it. But it came with a very pricy game and the charger. Took it home ordered a capacitor kit and replaced them all and lo and behold it turned on and works great even today. Great job returning those back to life Steve

Just read your update from May! I am so happy you're cancer free Steve. I've watched so many of your videos and even fixed a few things with your help LOL. Parasocial relationship kicked in hard when I saw you had no hair and with a history of cancer in my family, I got so worried. Shed some tears reading that last update from May. Seriously, you're one of the best humans on this planet and I hope you continue to get and feel better and stay cancer free. Stay awesome brother.

I had my suspicions but had to Google it and just found out you had cancer mate! That's horrible but glad to see you're in remission, that's awesome news!

Been a keen watcher of yours for a while now so felt a bit of dread when I realised as you've not only given me entertainment but helped me through a lot of fixes of my own and taught me a lot.

Love from England buddy, keep on keeping on!

Hey I'm not sure if you've ever done this before but regarding the ripped pads on that cap you're replacing at about 32 minutes, use some copper tape in place of the broken pads. Just cut to size and since it's sticky on the bottom, it shouldn't move much then just bridge the copper tape with a part you scratch off or run a bit of wire to it and it'll give you much more room to work with when soldering in the new cap. I did it to my Sega CD when I modded it with an FRAM chip (I ripped one pad and replaced it with some copper tape) and it worked like a charm!

Watching your videos has inspired me to fix old stuff appliances and electronics i had lying around the house. I'm no expert and some things i couldn't save, but i have kept some stuff out of the trash can, so its a win for me.

I just really enjoy watching Steve fix these things and I am also learning stuff as well. He is very funny at times and keeps me engaged all of the time plus really motivated me into wanting to try and fix some stuff that I have. Keep up the good work Steve and hopefully your treatments are going very well and you get back to 100% soon.
