People ask me all the time ... How is KUMON different from tutoring? Here's the basic thing, first of all we have our own curriculum at Kumon--we know exactly where a student should start and where we are trying to get them. It's not just helping them with their homework we're actually helping them learn to read and learn how to do math better.

Another difference is: at KUMON we really want our students to become independent learners. We want them to be able to figure things out on their own.

We are proud that KUMON creates independence. Our ultimate goal is to teach our students to learn how to learn. Independently.
