The Sedition Law – Is it Good or Bad? | The Quint

What is the Sedition Law? And is it good or bad? We can't tell you that, but we can tell you that it is over 150 years old and has been abolished in the country that it originated in. Mohandas Karam Chand Gandhi and Bal Gangadhar Tilak were among the freedom fighters who were at the receiving end of the law. We can tell you that after being widely debated in the parliament, the word 'Sedition' was excluded. Though it exists in the Indian Penal Code, as Section 124-A. So, should The Sedition Law be repealed? That really depends on what kind of country and freedom we want. To help you decide, here's a brief history of the law.

As per me Sedition Law should exist as it. It for those people who have a strong hatred feeling for the Government like uprising of terrorism, passing of hatred message against our nation, etc.
Actually Section 124 (A) creates a limit against Article 19 (1)(a) .
It is a tool of Article 19(2) to look after the integrity of the nation.
