Another cat project I think Joobie would love is cat shelves. See, cats are very territorial creatures and they love being high overseeing their domain--it makes them feel confident. So if you made some shelves going up a wall like a staircase with a big carpeted perch she could sleep in at the top she would absolutely use it.

I have an experience to share: We made a dog house with a acrylic top and it made the inside of the dogouse so hot when the sun was out. We made a cover for it out of UV fabric, like they use for greenhouses, that helped but the California sun was too brutal. We ended up putting a different top on it.

I’ve been thinking about making my own cat a catio for a while.
She’s getting older and originally was someone’s indoor/outdoor cat who had a lot of anxiety when it came to being exclusively indoors. As she’s getting older I’ve started to become worried about her spending time outside so I hope by building a catio it will both keep her safe and alleviate the anxiety she had when I tried to keep her as an indoor only cat so she can live a long and healthy life into old age.
