Why INFJ's have layers

Totally agree! Perhaps, the most difficult thing for us is that we are usually misunderstood...that’s why we have those layers. As you said, we won’t open to everybody, only few of them who accept us and feel us in some kind of way.
I don’t believe in anger and I usually try to avoid arguing. I want to make others happy... Maybe I am too idealistic, I don’t know. I am glad that I am not alone (INFJ <3)

Feeling average is one of my greatest fears. I thought it had to do with being raised as the “golden child” in a narcissitic family dynamic, but maybe being an INFJ is part of it too

Seriously discovering I was an INFJ has changed everything for me. I just teared up listening to this. Spending my life trying to explain and defend who I am, which always just makes things even worse. Always feeling absolutely alone in how think and see the world. It is such a relief to be reminded that it's ok to be me. Things that other people just dont understand. How exhausting it is to exist lol Feeling soooo misunderstood that I can't seem to make a positive impact in the world. And when that is the case...what's the point? It's just pointless suffering. But here I am, finally realizing there are others that feel the struggle lol Thank you so much for putting this out in the world for me to find. I really really needed reminded that regardless of whether it's acknowledged, or even known, we can make huge meaningful impacts and have the strength to do so. Thank you so much for being you. It had helped me in ways I can't begin to express.

INFJ INTJ we have layers, because we value Time & Energy, important ressources.
_Don't want waste time and energy, if we know the person will not stay on a long term relationship. Don't want spend time & energy for nothing good, true or usefull (Ni)
_Every word, every behavior, every decision can impact an other, and impact the future.
Every word, every behavior, every decision, every thing you share or show, is a weapon someone can use against yourself.
_We don't want to be hurt, and we don't want hurt. If something bad happen, if someone says something negativ or hurtful, we will think, and analyse it for days, weeks, months, until we will find the cause.
_Because, most of people are so self centered, focus on themselfves, most of people don't care of others people, they care only about themselves, we perfectly know no one care of us, we know it's useless to make connection with them, we know most of people are not open-minded.
We know what's going go, we know what's happen, so don't lie.
People are afraid to show their true self, afraid to be not accepted for who really they are, afraid of the unknown.
Most of people are so stuck on what they perceived, and know from us, they don't want to go deeper, they don't want to know, or to learn, they are no patients.
They only know what we decided to share with them = only the dots which match/connect with them, they only know a little fragment of us.
We are a black hole, (of informations and knowledge, which are timeless, stoppes in the time) and if you really deserve it, we transform into a white hole, so prepare your sunglasses, or you will be blind by the truth, the good, and the usefull.
We are labyrinth with many doors, and good luck to find the keys, because there are not.
The reason is surely just Ni : the essence, the truth, the good, the usefull, we share only the essential.

Yes. We're constantly processing and selecting. You got the extra sensitive/attuned Fe backing up the Ni so we're boiling down who can actually connect with the same level of commitment. Not many. Plus our energy level to sustain them. I don't care to have more than 3-5 slots tbh. I've heard of intjs having this "friend deletion" thing too.

Spot on...all so true, and I've found that the reason for the 'layers' too; may be because it takes more time for another individual to actually see, and have more time for INFJ's to show their layers through more long-term experiences; oh, and we can't stand 'small-talk'. (I hope that made sense:)))
