My first steps into the world of lightsabers was the master replica force fx sabers. I had a collection of them starting around 2003 or so. I had the maul and it was so badassed!!
But like you, my childish antics took over my common senses and I was swinging it around in my living room. I knocked a few things off shelves and the pictures off the walls, broke the ceiling fan light, amazingly the blades all remained intact. My wife at the time wasn't very happy.

Love the coupler they have on that. A problem that LGT or TXQ has sometimes, & especially over time if you use it a lot, is that the buttons on the 2 sides don't lines up, but that coupler kinda guarantees that it'll line up exactly right every time.
And nice how 89sabers got that crystal positioning right on the Ventress. Just wish LGT or TXQ got the positioning right too...

The Saber that destroyed the poor ceiling fan lol. I find it interesting that the newer models of Darth Maul's Sabers come with those couplers that just make it 100% accurate. Looks incredible. I've seen the Xeno Version of the saber and it don't have couplers like that. If they had couplers like that, It would make the Xeno Version just as good. The Ceiling Fan served it's purpose well good sir. o7

Kinda wish mine was the 89 sabers version now. Mine you need to fiddle with the keep things lined up and it could do with a tiny shim with the one that came with it.

If you watch the scene closely, when Maul ignites it, you can see the hilt extending slightly. Looks like it's done with sfx and it's not an actual practical thing.

Right now, my problem is I already have 3 DM double bladed hilts, including an older version of this from CCsabers/89sabers with proffie v2.2, so I can't really push for a fourth. I had also ordered from VS their Stormblaster (Death Trooper version) in Xenopixel. Don't get me wrong though, I'm glad 89sabers/ccsabers/txqsabers are pushing the proffie v3.9. It's a superior board compared to the v2.2. I have the Obi-Wan v3.5 with the newer proffie board and I can tell the difference in sound quality and responsiveness with the effects.
