Most of the negative comments are along the lines of: “would you like your daughter or your sister to engage in mutah?” The answer is of course, we much prefer them to engage in nikah. However, many of our Muslim sisters and daughters date men, whether in the West or otherwise. In these situations, mutah is the preferable and halal alternative to the horrible sin of zinnah. If your sisters and daughters are chaste, Mashallah that is excellent. Alhamdulillah. But not all Muslim women and men are chaste.

Similarly, are Muslim men allowed to have more than one wife? Would you like your sister or daughter to be someone’s fourth wife? Does your preference make it haram? For most of the community, we hope and pray for one man and one woman to live together in harmony, permanently, with healthy and happy Muslim children. That is best, but not always how it turns out.

I am Shia, and I am not an scholar, but I do not agree with the commentary of the aya as no where in the translation it says one can enter temporary marriage for a certain time period. The translation just reads who one can and cannot marry and one should enter marriage and prior to that certain requirements such as dowry needs to be fulfilled, with an intention to be chaste and not unlawful sexual act.
Again I am not an scholar but clearly Quran 24:33 contradicts with the commentary version of the aya expanding on temporary marriage.
The commentators have a myriad of difference of opinions on some of the ayas. They are doing their best based on their knowledge, so YOU as a Muslim should also use your best judgment.
“And those who cannot afford marriage should keep themselves chaste until Allah enriches them out of His grace 24:33 Quraan”

As for those in comment section harassing the speaker and Shias as whole, he is simply stating something that is controversial among Shias themselves let alone the Sunnis. So do yourself a favor and use your best judgment with the Quraan being the first source. Stop venting on someones platform just because they are from a different sect of Islam. Those who claim following Sunnah and tells the speaker to dare have her daughter/mother/sister be given to temporarily marriage, I don’t think the prophet would appreciate such people tagging the prophet along with their claim. voice your opinion respectfully please

People here are commenting out of emotions and asking whether someone likes Nikah of Muta for his sister or daughter? When you let your sister or daughter get married you allow their partners to develop sexual relationship with them. Why don't you get angry on that occasion? The answer would be Allah has permitted the muslims to marry. If Allah allows the muslims to do Nikah of Muta who dares to declare it haram?

Her uncle (chacha) and maternal uncle (mamu) are alive. And wish to enter into a temporary marriage (mut'ah). Do she need permission from elder sister, mother, uncle, or maternal uncle to do so?

"Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) forbade mut’ah marriage and the meat of domestic donkeys at the time of Khaybar. According to another report, he forbade mut’ah marriage at the time of Khaybar and he forbade the meat of tame donkeys. (Narrated by al-Bukhari, 3979; Muslim, 1407)

Narrated `Ali bin Abi Talib:

On the day of Khaibar, Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) forbade the Mut'a (i.e. temporary marriage) and the eating of donkey-meat.

O liar The Messanger of Allah Rasulullah SAW had prohibited it completely.

4. The Shia mujtahid Abu al Qasim, the father of ‘Allamah Sayyid’ ‘Ali al Ha’iri, says:


قال ابو عبد الله (عليه السلام) ما من رجل تمتع ثم اغتسل الا خلق الله من كل قطرة قطر منه سبعين ملكا يستغفرون له الى يوم القيامة

Imam Ja’far al Sadiq rahimahu Llah said: “There is no man who commits Mut’ah and then takes a bath but Allah creates an angel from every drop of water then falls from his body, who will seek forgiveness on his behalf until the Day of Qiyamah.
