Funny story:

So, I was just playing chess, and I recently hit 500 Elo—super proud of that, by the way. I’m also subscribed to Levy Rozman and Hikaru Nakamura, which makes this story even funnier.

Picture this: I blundered my rook (classic), and right at that moment, a notification popped up. It was from Hikaru, and the video title screamed, I couldn’t believe the timing—it was like Hikaru himself was reacting to my blunder in real-time.

Now, if that had happened just once, it would’ve been funny enough. But no, this story’s a masterpiece because it happened twice.

I was on the verge of winning—so close to a checkmate. I confidently pushed a pawn, thinking, This is it. I’ve got this. Then, another notification popped up, this time from Levy. The title? “LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL.” I was like, “What is happening right now?”

And here’s the kicker: the game didn’t end. I was so confused. “HOW IS THIS NOT CHECKMATE?!” I shouted at my screen. Turns out, my opponent had one last legal move—an en passant. Of course, because why not?

Thankfully, I still managed to win the game with a proper checkmate, but man, that whole sequence felt like a sitcom episode. Too bad I wasn’t recording—this kind of thing only happens once in a lifetime!

I think Ding anyhow wants the tiebreak as he knows he's a clear favourite in it. Gukesh is taking a huge risk to allow him doing this or maybe he's planning to beat Ding in his comfort zone somehow.
