Thanks! i was trying to create the effect of fibers on a painting. So, I had to move that red-and-white fiber structure from one side of the painting to another. I did not understand what to do exactly, but the video gave me a good start.

Wouldn't surprise me. They often develop the next iteration along side the one after it. Software development is a slow process when it's something as complex as this, and when they make so many big changes like they have here they'll need even more time to make sure the next version has everything this release has plus whatever else they're adding to it.

I am always using the Patch tool, it is my Favorite tool, rather than healling brush. I am really excited now, that it has the content-aware with it! Awesome!! :-)

Yes!!!! I've been waiting for forever for Adobe to bring this feature to PS from Lightroom.

In your example of the adaption setting the very loose and very strict looked virtually the same.

I have found in my day to day use that I keep content aware turned OFF on the patch tool. If I ever have it turn on then the patched area always stands out.

Using the old method with the patch and a little thought, I can get better results ALL the time.

Hi, I love using the patch tool with content aware, however, its stopped working ...I use to be able to drag my selection (like you demonstrated in video) to sample the desired area, but it no longer does that. I also noticed I'm missing the "adaptation option" and "sample all layers" option. I don't know what I'm doing wrong...can you help?

Nearly excellent tutorial, but it is not simply just dragging the selected are and magic happens. At least it did not happen for me, I followed the tutorial and got nothing, maybe indication on holding any keys when dragging the area that we want to patch? so that it will copy the area chose for patching? So for me is back to square zero.
