I love this song so much! I have been playing "Agua de Beber" for so many years now, such an awesome outlet for exploring harmony, rhythm and grooves. This classic by Jobim and Vinícius de Moraes is high up there among the Brazilian Classics. I keep finding new things every time I play it. So much fun. What do you think guys? Dig this tune too?

Damn, that's sweet! Fast tempo, too! The bass notes really drive it. The bass is voiced. The chords are voiced. The melody is voiced. All perfectly grounded in the groove -- yet swinging independently. Astonishing. I've been teaching myself to play guitar since I was 14 years old, 44 years ago. I discovered Bossa Nova some 30 years ago. I'm proud to say the Bossa groove is not that foreign to me. I get it. I don't know what I listened to in my youth that instilled the Bossa groove into my soul, but I am extremely grateful for it. My mom listened to Harry Bellafonte when I was a baby in the late 1960s. Johnny Cash. Johnny Rivers. Odetta. Nat "King" Cole. Ray Charles. I owe her a tremendous debt of gratitude. I learned how to swing dancing with my momma as a baby! Thanks mom!
