Another Add for Insurance companies and lawyers. I have been in building maintenance for 50 years and have never seen anyone pay for inferior workmanship or, out and out negligence in construction, unless their was physical injury's to persons. Other wise no one pays for bull shit engineering and shady craftmanship.

This is how I explain it.: The surety (bonding company) holds money for the general public in case the contractor does not perform as written in a contract. If a consumer makes a claim the bonding company investigates and decides if the contractor is wrong. No small claims court or lawyer needed.

I do have one question, if you are bonded and successfully completed a project with no issues with performance or pay and sometime in the future the work performed turns out to be faulty will the bond cover any of the costs or is that what general liability insurance is for?
