Just an idea….. you guys should do a video of all what “didn’t” work offgrid.

You 2 are such an awesome couple. Either one of you couldn't have found anyone better for each other.

It's good to see a video like this! Perhaps every year around the holidays you could do a " year in review " video. Make it part of a Christmas edition?

Can't wait to see more about the Kawasaki side by side, and the cool ski lift chair leaning against the shed! 😊

1. Arctic room
2. More bedrooms
3. Extra bathroom (small)
4. Cellar for extra food. Does she can, freeze, foodsaver or dehydrate.
I have never seen a couple on YouTube do what you are doing and everything makes sense very good job love. Can't wait to see the next project.

Riley, what I think you should build next is an enclosure around the wood stove in your living space. Perhaps a nice custom iron fence/gate so the baby can stay safe from it.

You need to consider a garden now that you have lots of water. 😊

My wifey (77) and I (81) love you and your channel. Oh, to be young again. You are both amazing in your talents and the way you work together as a team. All of your builds are true works of art. Your home, workshop and storage area are fantastic.

I can only come up with 3 things, 1) Stairs for the new deck 2) Replacing the new generator that broke 3) Plans for an addition so Oliver can have his own room, as he will need it in a year or two.

Perhaps it’s time to extend the mezzanine that supports Courtney’s office out into a couple additional rooms. Everyone agrees that Oliver needs his own room and I suspect that another sibling will come along too. With your shallow well providing water supplies a second bathroom may become appropriate too.

Thanks for sharing this wonderful video recap. Wishing you and your family a blessed holiday season, gentle seasonally appropriate weather and restful evenings together planning future projects. Peace

Add stairs and a railing to the equipment shed deck.

Perhaps you should consider an addition to your home: a bedroom for Oliver = more space and privacy for you.😃

I upgraded my wood stove a couple years ago to a Blaze King - Sirocco 20 in my on grid remote house in Northern British Columbia. It’s one of their smaller models because my house is only 1100 sq feet. As part of the remodel I also reinsulated the the whole house. Blaze King stoves are super efficient and of a superior air tight design with a catalytic reburner to keep the chimney super clean. They are quite expensive at +3000$ Cdn - but I went from burning 10 cords of firewood per year in the house to burning less than 3 cords. You only have to load it 2 or 3 times a day when burning it 24hrs and you only have to clean the chimney a couple times a year. It was well worth the upgrade!

How about adding an additional bedroom as a big project? Also would love to hear more about the your plans for the shallow well water. Needless to say, getting a fully independent water supply would be huge!

Love the foot pedal control for the faucet, what a great idea.

Future projects:
- Permanent Railings and stairs for container rooftop deck
- additional rooms for Oliver and Riley over the shop
- more solar Panels on the South facing roof of the container storage area
- Using the ski lift chair as a couples swing on the rooftop deck or maybe use that as a way to get to the top of the deck
- fix the hole in the office floor
- permanent water solution (filtration, etc.)
- a wall on the back side of the container storage

Hi, both.
I built my own house in 1972 hear in England. Concrete block construction with Concrete roof tiles as we do over hear. All while keeping my full-time job, so l know personally what it takes. I have watched you since you bought the site (that's when I first found you) and have followed your site ever since. I really admire all your achievements and wish you both all the best for your future.
PS. Oliver is a great little chap!
