Simple Living
Decluttering is part of simple living for me. Living with less stuff makes life simpler in our house. However, simple living does not mean easy living. Simple living is about uncomplicating parts of your life. By decluttering, choosing your enough, and focusing intentionally on what matters most to you, a life of slow and simple living is possible.

Slow Living
A slow living lifestyle is sometimes perceived as an antidote to the effects of that fast paced life. Slow living is about balancing the things you want to do WITH the speed of life. Slowing down and embracing slow living is not about getting the same amount of things done at a slower pace. Rather, slow and simple living is about finding balance and living better in our fast paced world.

Obstructive, massive, problem-level clutter overwhelmed me... until I decluttered thousands of items, created open space in our home, and found free time as a minimalist! In my fourth year of minimalism, I am now bridging into simple living, slow living, and sharing a few easy tips to get started! 2023 is about finding joy in simple living for our family of five.

I am so impressed by how much thought and time you put into your homeschool year. As a former public school teacher who now homeschools my 4 kiddos, I can tell you that you are doing an amazing job from both the public school and homeschool standpoint! You rock! Your children are so blessed to have you as teacher and MOM!

My niece kept flunking her spelling test so I had her write the spelling words on a list and put it on the fridge and every time someone opened up the fridge they had to yell out a spelling word to her and she had to spell it and when she opened the fridge she had to yell out a spelling word and somebody in her family had to spell it she started getting 100's on her spelling tests and it was a lot of fun for the family and every week they put the new words on the fridge. When her 22-year old brother or her mother or father would get one of the words wrong she would giggle and giggle 😂

Hope you all have a wonderful year. I’m exhausted seeing how much work goes into prepping for school. You are clearly VERY thorough.

My favorite poet is shel Silverstein. They are illustrated kid friendly, silly and a lot of fun.

We’ve been homeschooling for 10 years now and we unschool. I recently minimized our homeschool stuff and wielded it down to arts math games and writing supplies with some puzzles books board games etc. it’s been wonderful not having so much stuff where

Love your videos! We are a homeschooling family also. We read The miraculous journey of Edward Tulane this past year. My daughters, 5 and 10 years old, loved it. We all cried!

I have only watched 7 min. of your video and all I can say is WOW! I didn't realize that there was so much work involved in homeschooling. I guess the popular misconception is that when kids don't to to public/private school and stay home they end up playing all day and maybe once in a while have actual learning time. but the way you describe your curriculum, they way of organizing your resources and the passion you put into this, I see why you children are doing so well. they can feed off of your positive energy to teach and makes them want to learn. Keep it up.

I am a public high school teacher and am hugely impressed by your detailed organization and how much you have already prepped before the school year even starts out. Hats off to you!

My ADHD anxiety always kicks in when mapping out a lesson plan for more than a week or two, so I am even more impressed how far ahead you already are in planning!

I have worked in child protective services for over 30 years. I always think of foster children or teens when I read the end of “The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane” when he has hardened his heart against caring and being loved. That was one of my son’s favorite books.

You are freaking amazing ! There are things you are making sure that get covered that weren’t done when I was in public school in the 60s and 70s. For example phonic wasn’t in fashion… I have been trying to teach myself for decades. I am so very very proud of you!!

We had some English teachers combine music with poetry also. Finding songs and looking at lyrics as poetry.... the kids loved it. ❤😊

Wow! I am so impressed by your curriculum. Another item you might consider incorporating into the study of the states is the state quarters with symbolism of the state and the "America the Beautiful" quarter series which followed it to learn about the National parks and historic sites in each state.

I love Sing a Song of Seasons. A poem for every day of the year. It’s a beautiful book, and my kids like the poems a lot!
