👉 Learn how to add or subtract fractions with common denominators. When adding or subtracting two or more fractions with common denominators, we add or subtract only the numerator while we keep the denominator the same. We will then simplify our answer by reducing the fraction if necessary.

the first one looks like a case or box with 4 divisions or let's call them cells. same with the 2nd case. say the kid picks up the first box and sets it end to end against the 2nd. the boss man says, hey kid how much stuff out of all the boxes do we have ? the kid replys 3 of 8 cells are full  sir. how do you know kid. "i added all the full cells (the numerator ) then i added all the cells", got 3 of eight boss. let me see kid, you're right. good work. i was afraid you were going to add the numerators and use the common denominator. that would have been a major screw up. i'm glad you knew there are cases where you add denominators. where did you learn that, because i know it's not taught in our public school system.
