I was recently listening to some pundit, (John Mersheimer or Jeffrey Sachs, I think), and he mentioned that the only way the U.S. could fight a sustained war with Iran or Russia would be through a draft.

He added that the push back and anti-Israel sentiment would be such that it would irrevocably change for the worse the U.S. public opinion of Israel. I think this line of thought as merit. So much so, that the only way it might work is with a false flag attack on the U.S. a la 9/11 — and blame it on Iran. Even then, I think many will see through such bullsit.
