I had a friend that self diagnosed herself with multiple personality disorder for half the year. Asked her parents about it and they said she didn’t have any personality disorder. And only was diagnosed with depression

i had a friend like this freshman year and it was absolutely draining. for a few months when we started the friendship he constantly threatened to off himself, and i took it seiriously. he kept doing it but by that time i called his bluff multible times, but he kept going for the rest of our friendship. he claimed to have DID and schitzophrenia as well. and i took this guy seriously as i had tried and failed to off myself in the 7th grade (story for another time) and felt like this dudes therapist. later i found out that he has a loving family and a great life in the burbs, he just glorifies mental illness.
