I've watched every Doris Day movie - most several times!

Doris Day gets lumped in with fifties pop but she started out singing for big jazz bands like Les brown. Imagine hitting the road with a bus full of jazz musicians in the forties. Doris is a seriously good jazz singer and I think she must have been tough as nails. Much respect for Doris and Tasha

Doris Day is part of the background music of my childhood. When I was very young in the early 60s these movies from the 50s were showing up on television, and Doris was also still active through the 60s on the big screens too, so this is instant nostalgia, for me. I think she sang beautifully, but I'm a lousy judge, because her voice reminds me of all of the most pleasant things of my youth. This is sitting on the floor with brother and cousins at Grandma's house, watching Doris Day and other singers in movies on the color tv, while Grandma sat on the couch behind us, quietly singing along with Doris or Louis Armstrong, or Rosemary Clooney and Bing Crosby. This reminds me of childhood's light places between dark times.

This goes way back, like my parents era of music. Que Sera, Sera (Whatever Will Be, Will Be) is a song written by the team of Jay Livingston and Ray Evans that was first published in 1955.[4] Doris Day introduced it in the Alfred Hitchcock film The Man Who Knew Too Much (1956) singing it as a cue to their onscreen kidnapped son. The three verses of the song progress through the life of the narrator—from childhood, through young adulthood and falling in love, to parenthood—and each asks "What will I be?" or "What lies ahead?" The chorus repeats the answer: "What will be, will be." Source: Wikipedia

Such a nice song. These scenes are from a great Hitchcock suspense “The man who knew too much”! 😊

Love Doris Day, her singing & all her movies. Another favorite song by Doris is "Secret Love", from the movie " Calamity Jane". You would enjoy this movie. Of course any Doris Day movie is great!

My gosh! In 1956 I was 6 years old. I actually remember asking my mom "What does Que Sara Sara mean?" The song stays with you forever. I sang it constantly

I remember watching her show as a kid and hearing this.

Such a happy song, considering her son is being held hostage somewhere in the house and her husband (James Stewart) is trying to find him while she keeps the guest distracted.

I grew up listening to Doris Day sing - with that amazing voice. My personal favourite would be the movie Calamity Jane - the story and the songs. A favourite to this day - I will always have the memory of my late mother singing "Secret Love". Beautiful lady.

Pillow Talk is a great movie with Doris Day and Rock Hudson

Her first big hit was 'Sentimental Journey' in 1945. Well worth a reaction. There's a video on Youtube of her singing it in a reunion with Les Brown that includes vintage photos of her and the band.

You might want to check out the Doris Day/Rock Hudson comedies. She also did one ('That Touch of Mink') with Cary Grant.

So delightful, listening to this happy classic song and watching the wonderful Tasha enjoy it at the same time! Does it get any better than that for a couple minute feel-good pick-me-up?! 😊😊😊😊😊. A true 5-smile reaction video!
