Automated Testing in Oracle OTM implementations and upgrades by Prithvi Mahadev (Flo Group)

For some time, Flo, have been in discussions with one of our major clients to provide a set of services which encompass System Migrations & Upgrades, Template models for OTM, Knowledge management solutions AND Automated Testing. These all to be provided on a service level basis.

This presentation provides an introduction to Automated Testing (AT) and includes:
• How to use AT with an OTM project
• How to set up the scripts
• Scripts of the basic blocks
• Benefits of using the Testing tool
• Types of scenarios suitable for AT
• “factory” based model for lower cost and rapid delivery
• Specific usage for OTM upgrades
• Cloud transition testing

Industry averages show that automation of testing reduces time and costs in the testing phase of projects and upgrades by as much as 90% so our challenge is to provide a Quality solution at a sensible price. Flo have the skills to deliver OTM solutions; with Automated testing, we can take another step forward in ensuring our clients get Quality Delivery.

During an OTM Implementation phase, the basic blocks can be amended to test the OTM configurations. Would also help in developing a regression suite for the further tests.

In an OTM upgrade phase, as the system is just being upgraded from an old version to the new version the system would have been thoroughly tested in the old version. We identify the Golden transaction which are most commonly used. Which will be tested using the automation testing tool. It will reduce the testing time considerably.
