Just curious about Float vs. Double for Android development - since the hardware is so much different and less powerful, is Float preferred? Does it matter?

I take it this course isn't exactly for someone starting with no pre knowledge of programing? There is a lot of terms in explanations I don't fully grasp. I wrote out all the program the same way and got no errors after so that's pretty cool, just don't under stand why too well.
