Paco, je T'ai vu tant de fois, au fil des années du XX et XXIème siècle dans la moiteur des étés, aux arènes de Nîmes, de Palavas, dans la fraîcheur des nuits du Théâtre de la Mer à Sète, aussi avec tes remarquables compagnons John Mac Laughlin et Al di Méola aux arènes du Cap d'Agde voila bien longtemps à l'époque de "Saturday night in San-Francisco", avec Larry Coryell aussi, sans oublier les hivers à Gramont à Montpellier. Je n'oublierai jamais le guitariste que tu fus durant toutes ces annèes, non plus la générosité dont Tu faisais preuve envers ton public à qui tu donnais tout... Repose en paix Paco, Tu es dans toutes les mémoires des gens du sud, Personne ne T'oublieras, tes notes sont gravées dans nos coeurs...

Cuando nos dejó, cuando se fue, estuve llorando sin parar dos días. El video es grandioso, . Aparte de Paco está Duquende, el Farru y no sé si es Potito el otro que canta. Gracias por colgarlo. Ha sido un genio a la altura de los grandes compositores, más reconocido fuera que en éste país nuestro . Él, aparte de ser un gran exponente de la "marca España", ha sido y es "marca universal".
Tuve la suerte de escucharle en Las Ventas y posteriormente el inmenso placer de conocerle en Algeciras.

Wanna be a genius playing the guitar like Paco de Lucia kids? According to his father, from age 6 to 14 he practiced and played the guitar 8 hours per day. At 14 he was ready to start touring and earning money to help at home, his main motivation. Nothing is easy in this life, but genius requires the almost impossible.

énormément d'émotions... Je suis vraiment très ému par autant de talent. Il y a également une culture forte qui transparait dans cette musique... je suis en train de faire un voyage incroyable ! Que l'on ouvre les yeux pour voir tout le talent et la maitrise parfaite de l'instrument ou simplement les yeux fermés, le spectacle est beau.

I do not practice excercises.
When I practice a piece, I do a few variations around it, inventing my own excercises to help in that particular place.
Technique is the art of variety, the art of knowing how to adjust your hand to a particular group of notes to produce a particular sound to fit the particular expectation of the ear.

Sound becomes metaphysical only when you have completely explored all physical possibilities. You should explore until reaching the absurd.

One should always try as much as possible to rediscover music as though one is hearing it for the first time, searching everywhere for new meanings and new depths.

The highest function of the artist is to release the spirituality and the emotional immediacy that lie within the score.

Be constantly engaged in research, I am not only looking at things the way they appear but also trying to find the labyrinths, the secrets of music.

A composition can only be performed well if it is entirely yours, not only every note from memory, but the notes have become you, and you have become the notes.

Nothing happens by chance. Call it a force that some people think controls what happens in the future, and is outside human control, call it preordination, but sometimes happens.
