Welcome to our high output ppfd lab test by Light Laboratories Inc. in Anaheim, California. We have tested 3 of the most popular LED's used for commercial cultivation.

1. SolisTek B9
2. Fluence SPYDR 2
3. Gavita Pro 1650 LED

Tested on a 5' x 5' grid at 12", 18", 24" & 36".

The results are very interesting. The SolisTek B9 outputs 27% more ppfd than the competitor fixtures at 36", it has the highest penetration power of the fixtures tested.

Summary: If the Fluence and Gavita are tested for efficiency at the height they are designed to be used, they kick the butt of the B9. If you test those two at the wrong height, you can fool some people into thinking the B9 is better when in fact it isn't.

Each fixture has a different recommend mounting height
So this test is inaccurate .You would have to compare the recommended mounting height for each to get correct results

Great video! Would be nice to see the PPFD when multiple light fixtures are adjacent...on a commercial scale that is what matters. Home growers are more interested in one light and a tent

it's clear that the Alpha has a much smaller beam angle, and that really shows in its (worse) uniformity. Take a look at the light levels near the edges of all fixtures and take into account that is uses more energy than the other two too. In any test with a small beam angle fixture you see more light on the surface at larger distance as the larger beam angle fixtures lose more light on the walls. When used at appropriate distance the Fluence and Gavita give a much better uniformity too.

Spydr has 2 versions of the 631watt (there isn't a 613w!!)- the 2P and the 2i, same wattage but the 2i pushes out 10% more light. Can you inform which you used to compare?

The more bars the light had the higher the number goes up. 😂 spydr has 6 bars gavita has 8 and solis has 10. Put one up with 12 😂

Why would you want to put a light that is made for racking 36" away from your canopy? Anything more than 18" with a light like that is wasting energy.

There is an inverse relationship between distance and light intensity - as the distance increases, light intensity decreases. i=1/d square. No matter what brand of lights you use. Its a law of nature.

The fluence is recommended to be six inches from canopy on a 4x4 area

I searched google for a spec sheet for the B9 and came up with nothing. Which drivers and chips are you using?

Spyder is set at 6 inches above canopy not 12.. try again!🙄

I have never heard of those type of efficiency numbers. You are supposed to measure ppf to watt or umoles per joules

This light isnt even compatable with regular household current 120v outlets. They seem to be only concerned with commercial grows. This is the only light on thier website.

Guess that SolisTek light is built more so for commercial grows or people with higher ceilings, since it penetrates so deeply into the canopy you'll probably never be able to grow the plants closer to the lights like the Fluence or Gavita LEDs without bleaching your tops or worse from the light's intensity.
