My favourite line by him is "Young Lady" addressing Big Mom

brooks “im glad to be alive!” is one of my favorite moments in the entire series. to see a character who holds such guilt for the second chance he has, to finally be able to embrace it and yell from his heart that he is so happy to be alive really really gets to me

My favorite thing about brook is that he is hyper competent in literally everything he does. He plays every instrument, he became a rockstar in two years, he robbed big mom in her sleep and he’s a master swordsman. I think it’s incredibly funny this guy sailed at the same time Rodger did and has all the experience a guy like that would need and then only uses it like 30% of the time just because his “job” is just to play music and tell bone jokes

One of Brook's more powerful lines, to me, are in Fishman Ilsand, when Zeo is talking about the fodder dying for the cause leaving hatred behind, and as he cuts him, he says "what do you know about death? You have never died before". Brook is such a great character.

A quartet… a trio… a duet… a solo… that part always brings a tear to my eye. OR IT WOULD IF I HAD ANY EYES, YOHOHOHOHO

It's worth mentioning that, even if they never directly confront eachother, Moriah and Brook are incredible foils. Moriah let his crew's death break him down and he hardly tries anymore, making others work for him, while Brook takes everything onto himself to accomplish, to the point of even pushing others away at first.

He was suicidal during his confinement to the Florian Triangle, but his IMMENSE joie de vivre still shone through. The strength of Brook's soul is breathtakingly beautiful.

Brook is a reminder to keep pushing to tomorrow, to keep pushing toward the unlikely future where everything is OK, and what was lost was worthwhile.

The fact that Oda makes it so hard to choose a favorite Straw Hat (after Luffy) is an incredible feat of writing prowess

I never realized Brook didn't play music in those 50 years. 😭 Another favourite from Thriller Bark was his attachement to his signature afro, being protectful of it because Laboon might not recognize him without it.

The story of how Bink's Sake was made is pretty interesting. Oda told Kohei Tanaka, the composer, to work on the piece way back when he was designing Brook. It wasn't until 5 years after the song was completed that it would be premiered. Tanaka himself stated that the song was a mix between carefree and sad, which reflects Brook's character.
One thing I love about One Piece's music is that each character has their own theme, which reflects their personality. For example, Luffy has this trumpet theme. Trumpets are mostly instruments who have the melody and lead the ensemble, kind of how Luffy leads the crew in a bright and optimistic way.
Zoro's theme is the most traditional, with the use of timpanis and other japanese instruments, such as the koto.
Nami, Chopper, and Usopp's theme are very light.
Sanji's, Robin's (and possibly Franky's) theme is in a style of jazz. This could reflect their cunning yet unpredictable nature.
Even freakin' Doflamingo gets his own theme with electronic music, which is so goofy yet terrifying.
And then we get to Brook's theme, and of course it's Bink's Booze but in a different key, followed with strings and winds. And then there's a Trombone solo. Get it? Trom-BONE? I think you get the point of this theme.
Anyway, just wanted to gush about Tanaka's music because I think he deserves more love and I am a music nerd. He really makes the anime stand out and is one of the reasons why I continue watching it.

I remember Brook's reaction to Pedro's sacrifice being so painful. Pedro being another old soul; and one that Brook really started to bond with, was rough.

one of my favourite brook moments is when he was talking about Roger, the most legendary pirate, as just yea he might have existed

Brook in Wano… he made my heart melt. He saw what he had hallucinated for YEARS on that ship in the Florian Triangle, he saw his crew and his greatest dream and duty to the Rumbar Pirates. Yet because of his love for the Straw Hats and the fire for life they stoked in his heart, he found the resolve to cut through the lies of the illusion. And his dynamic with Robin, and their trust in one another is… the ICING on the cake that is their fight.

My favorite scene in Thriller Bark, even more so than nothing happened, was Luffy and Brook's conversation during the party. It did such a great job forging such a special relationship across generations and instantly solidified Brook as one of my favorite Straw Hats.

Even though he is criminally underrated and not brought up as others when it comes to discussions, I think it shows just how amazing of a support player Brooke is and why his role in the crew is so important. He is the reason why the key players are able to shine so bright, because only someone like him can hold them up.

Brooks laugh at Sanji with Duval, it was one of the most uninhibited pure displays of joy Iv seen in this show and caught me off guard so much my wife and I laughed with him. I loved brook when he was introduced and I think him reuniting with Laboon and telling him the story of the Straw Hats is 100% how the series needs to end, the end of his quest is the perfect cap stone for the story to me. LOVEING these character deep dives!!

I’ve always liked that because Brook is so much older than the rest of the crew, his perspective on things is so different. Like he’s the only one on the crew to have grown up and lived in a completely different era. By the time Roger was executed as the pirate king, Brook had already been dead for 30 years. We know that when Brook was sailing Roger was just an up and coming rookie. What we know of Brooks backstory starts when he’s already in his late thirties, so there’s a lot of stuff that he could know about that happened when he was younger. He’s just such an interesting character

Brook screaming and declaring, "I'm so glad to be alive" really ties back to when Saul told Robin to live and that no one on the seas are born to be alone. You'll find kind people some day (reiju told this to Sanji as well) and MAN did they find the kindest people.

Ah!! I love the strawhats so much❤❤
