Sidecar Summer | On the Oregon Coast

Riding the Ural motorcycle with sidecar along the coast of the Pacific Ocean in Oregon form from Pacific City to Seaside. Breakfast at a Grateful Dead inspired bakery. Hiking in the rainforest at Cape Lookout State Park. Being tourists in Seaside, Oregon.

About the series:
This is a series of videos about our summer vacation in a 2024 Ural motorcycle with a sidecar. We traveled from Redmond, Oregon to Plain, Washington for the Touratech Adventure Motorcycle Rally. We explored scenic back roads, motored along coastal highways and bounced down rugged, unpaved mountain roads - camping and cooking our own food and sometimes staying in nice hotels.

About the Bike:
The Ural Gear-Up motorcycle was provided by Overland Expo and is the official "Ultimate Build" motorcycle for 2024. The bike will be auctioned off for charity later this year. Learn more about this motorcycle project and the auction here:

Watching this episode gives me more appreciation for my home in the PNW.
Driving the Ural sidecar rig (Mine is a 2020 Gear-Up) forces one to slow down and take in the scenery. Although slow, the Ural is an altogether a different experience than a motorcycle.

when the fog breaks the reveal is amazing - the air opens up and all the sounds emerge that were muted by the mist...feeling the temperature in the woods rise 5 degrees and the sun on your face through the trees while everything starts steaming ;-)
on the upside, it's nearly impossible to take a bad cloud picture in Oregon. 😀
